Finally

So happy to be in the last week of this 8 week session. It has been stressful for me, but I made it through it. I was able to learn so much in this class. I am looking forward to using all the strategies I learned in my own lessons. I never knew there was so many until I took this class, which has been very helpful. Would like to wish everyone A Very Merry Christmas! Good luck to you all!

Take Away From Week 6

I liked the activity we did in class. I would of never put climate change with world's poor. The strategies are helping me become the teacher I want to be.  The lesson plans that were presented were great. Enjoyed listening to them. I taught my lesson plan on the 2nd and it went really well. I will be presenting it next week for you all to see what I taught. The kids in the class really enjoyed it.

Take Away From Week 5

After learning about the different vocabulary strategies, I find the CSSR to be a hit for me. My lesson that I taught to the class was on nonfiction text features. One of the text features that was introduced was bold words. I read the book to the class and there was several bold words. So I would use this strategy to help the kids learn the bold words. Very interesting strategy!

Take Away From Week 4

I wasn't in class to know what the class was about, but reading others blogs I am able to get an idea. After the reading assignment, I can see that there was strategies discussed. I find those strategies to be a big help for me. I never would of thought of such strategies to use to help the students stay focused. This class has definitely helped me with the whole picture of teaching reading in a much more successful way.

Take Away From Week 3

I really enjoyed the activities we did in class. My favorite one was, you emailing us a title of being a character and having us pick out what was important to us on the description given. It showed how differently everyone saw what was important to them and what they thought. Everyone thinks differently! There are so many thinking processes and strategies to integrate. Doing activities like this allow us to integrate those strategies.

Lesson Plan Brainstorming

I haven't really decided what I am going to do my first lesson plan on. I know that I need to get to thinking about it so I can get started. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. With everything that goes on in my head, thinking can be challenging. I am going to start my observing next week so I'm hoping to be able to get some ideas then.
